Nickols, 2000). Hence, a chosen consultant should have some familiarity with the aerospace industry as well as savvy communications skills in a variety of areas. Finally, the consultant should understand
cash flow issues and the general running of a business. In this way, valuable ideas may be proposed to cut costs at Boeing. Block (2002) suggests that there are
five phases in consulting and one is the setting up of an initial project and the next stage is where consultants come up with their own interpretation of the problem.
Feedback is derived at the third stage where decisions are made (Block, 2002). The fourth stage is the actual implementation of the proposals and the final phase involves an evaluation
of all that has happened where the new model is tweaked (Block, 2002). Price (2001) adds that part of the role of consultancy is to provide emotional support for
the client. The consultant is much like a therapist who merely guides the client to ultimate success. Using these five phases a consultant will want to interview executives, as well
as employees and clients at Boeing, and then carefully assess problems in terms of involvement. Are employees seemingly happy? Do customers perceive a negative attitude at the firm? Questions such
as those should be carefully considered. Then, the culmination of the interviews are discussed with executives and the consultant will make a proposal to which the executives provide feedback. Decisions
