current time it is facing a number of challenges which will need to be dealt with to ensure the profitability can continue. When looking at the current situation one of
the first consideration should be off the airline industry itself. It has been noted that the airline industry is facing a difficult time, with a large number of negative influences,
including downward pressure on prices having an adverse effect on profits. As well as this there are increasing prices for inputs such as fuel and labor emerging the profit level
and resulting in increased pressure for a chance to find ways to cut costs. In circumstances such as this it may be argued
that the firm which is able to remain profitable is showing positive signs. However, as well as current profit any organization needs to look at the way in which it
is going to carry on creating profit into the future. The negative fears regarding the airline industry have resulted in forming share prices for most airlines; Classic Airlines has seen
a 10% share price fall over the last year, and is very where that all companies in the airline industry are under close scrutiny from Wall Street.
Looking specifically at Classic Airlines and the individual situation there are some worrying trends which indicate the need of the company to take action. There are
influences from the external environment. The pressures to cut prices resulted in Classic Airlines cutting their prices last year and ending up in a price reduction. this was advocated as
a way to win back customers that were going elsewhere, but it does not appear to have worked, or, if it has had a positive effect it has limited customer
