some private school parents in the position of having to switch their children from private to public schools. High tuitions can be a barrier and are a disadvantage of private
schools. Half of all private school students attend a Catholic school and 80 percent attend religious schools (Education.com). Religious or parochial schools offer the advantage of religious instruction as part
of the curriculum, which many parents want for their children. This is an advantage of these types of schools. Public schools are not allowed to include any sort of religion
in their program, which is a disadvantage. Public schools are funded by state and federal money. Because they are funded with tax money, they must obey all the many federal
and state mandates and regulations concerning education. Private schools are funded through fees and gifts and do not have to obey the federal laws and regulations. They do have to
follow the state regulations but these are usually loosely interpreted for them by the state (Education.com). The difference in funding sources creates a distinct advantage for private schools. They
can be more innovative and flexible with their curriculum and programs. They can experiment with programs and processes. Private schools focus on their mission and often on specific topics
(EducationBug.org). Another advantage of private schools is their smaller class size (EducationBug.org). While public schools often do not have enough text books for all students, private schools do have an
adequate number and they usually have more up-to-date technology as well as more supplies (EducationBug.org). Public schools may offer a broader curriculum because those regulations mentioned earlier required them to
