Oracle software range of software, with the latest version of the project management software being the P6 version (Oracle, 2010). Primavera started in 1983, when it began as a
company the aim of creating project management software, with the original business model based on sale of the software through a network of distributors (Pinnacle, 2010).. The project software tended
to focus on large projects, the company became known creating project management software which was ideal for the use construction industries, and other industries that capital intensive, usually where there
were project that had large, dedicated, project teams, and would often have a focus on physical construction (Pinnacle, 2010). The current software products, including P6, as well as other
software products such as Primavera SureTrak, Primavera Expedition (Primavera Contract Manager) and Primavera Project Planner, have originated from the initial specialization in Project management software, and may be seen as
a type of related identification in areas which are complementary to project management, a well used strategy for firms that wish to increase their business market (Mintzberg et al., 2008).
These different types of software are all based on the same fundamental constructs and ideas as the initial project software development, and have many of the same as the
target market. Strength of the product can be seen in the way older versions of the software; Primavera Project Planner, which is also be referred to as P3 is available
