(Edwards, 2000). Dividing religion into three categories; primal eastern and western the basic characteristics may be assessed and compared. Primal religions are those which are least well know, they
are the religions that relate to singular or more limited societies, they remain very close to their original form, without evolution or development, and will have a long cultural history,
and may be referred to an non technological religions as they have not been exposure and influenced by machinery and technology and are not available for export (Edwards, 2000). There
are many primal religions, from those of the South American tribes through to the different forms of shamanism. There are a number of common features to be found in many
primal religions, but it should be noted that there is variety. The primal religions have been based on oral tradition and a key characteristic is the lack of separation between
the view and connections between the physical and the spiritual world with actions and reaction all interrelated, life is scared and it the way one lives is inline with the
beliefs, with worship activities not separated from daily activities. The numinous maybe relativity ambiguous, it may be a force that is there,
a part of the world and highly linked to the physical world. In many instances there is the reverence for spirit which may be present in all things or ancestor
worship and time is seen as eternal, meaning it is always present, but always is not the same as the view of forever as time is not seen as linear
