2001, 66). Although the purpose is clear, the goal is also very general. One might ask whether or not a description of womens experiences are enough to be important.
Likely, what one wants to do with the results, or why they are important might have been stated early on. If the authors write an objective, it ought to include
the reason why a description of womens experiences are relevant. In the end, authors go beyond the cursory descriptions of womens experiences and delve into the results of the study
and its implications. In terms of methodology, it does not appear that much attention was paid to choosing a sample. For instance, there were thirty women chosen, and all were
admitted to the hospital for preterm labor and while a diverse sample was the result, there is little to indicate exactly how they were chosen. Still, to discern a variety
of experiences, a random sample is really not needed nor is it practical. There are simply not that many cases of preterm labor where it might be easy to obtain
interviews. Thus, while the sample may be biased as it is in one location and may be related to the same doctors for example, it is still acceptable. Little attention
is paid to relaying facts about methodology. The data collection seems to be focused on the human experience. However, authors only pay scant attention to how the data is
collected and interpreted. The author places the data categorically and evaluates the bulk of the interviews in unison. For example, there is a section that is entitled Managing Symptoms and
