each played a very vital role during very tumultuous times in the United States and each were successful in their own manner. The following paper examines the involvement of each
President during his time as leader and then discusses which two were the most effective. The paper chooses Truman and Kennedy as the two most influential or effective of the
four Presidents. (In order to get a general overview of each President that is similar the paper utilizes one particular web site and their presentation of the Presidents). Truman
President Truman is most famous for making the decision to drop the bomb on Japan, thus ending the war and yet opening the future to a whole new kind of
fear and sense of confusion. Interestingly enough, while he was Vice President he had no absolutely no knowledge of the nuclear development and also had no knowledge of what was
going on with Russia (Junto Society [2]). So, when Roosevelt died and Truman became President at the very end of the Second World War he was essentially inundated with information
and the urgent need for action (Junto Society [2]). As such one can well consider that he did a very good job based on his initial lack of knowledge.
As the War was coming near its end Truman had sent a very urgent plea to Japan that they needed to surrender. They refused and the bombs were dropped, putting
a final end to the war with Japan. It was in 1945 that Truman also "witnessed the signing of the charter of the United Nations, hopefully established to preserve peace"
(Junto Society [2]). It is noted that up until this point in his job he had followed the policies of Roosevelt but then he quickly began to go his own
