a decade after Enron the United States of America found itself dealing with unprecedented bank failures. A large part of the mess was tied to the mortgage fiasco where
people who were not credit worthy were given large loans they could not really afford. Greed seems to be a large motivator in the entire mess. There was greed on
the part of the borrowers as well as on the part of the lenders. These situations would culminate into one of the worst economies on record and the market would
reflect this depressing tone. Some called it a recession and others said it was a downright depression. However, as 2009 unfolds, the economy is showing a slight rebound. Today,
as people continue to complain about the economy and unemployment increases, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Some are not so sure as they
bash the Obama rhetoric that critics dub "socialist." Yet, while it may be the case that President Obama is clearly more left of Republican President Bush, Barack Obama does have
some clear policies that can help the U.S. get back on track. In evaluating Barack Obamas policies, and examining the current economic situation, it does appear that the future can
be better. First, it is important to understand what occurred in the past few years. After all, President Obama must deal with the situation he is given.
