Browsing the first hits that came up in a Google search using the keywords "preschool reading readiness" resulted in landing on "Preschool and Kindergarten Reading Readiness" posted by DLTKs Sites, who describe themselves as a typical North American family. Designed by parents, with lots of input from their children, this site offers a wide variety of practical, easily-usable and effective ideas, strategies and worksheets that can be utilized with preschoolers, ages 2-5. The site begins by offering general instructions for parents and teachers on the topic of age distinctions between preschoolers, pointing out that 2 year olds need adult assistance to complete the worksheets, 3 years old require minimal assistance and 4 to 5 years old can complete work without assistance once directions are given.
