strategy wins. In such a scenario, strategic thinking is used. While it is a concept that is difficult to define, there are many elements associated with strategic thinking and
these include the notion of a desired outcome, a plan, being prepared for new challenges and also, the desire to achieve more than one objective at a time (Albano, 1999).
Other aspects of strategic thinking include the ability to think about the opponents possible actions (1999). This type of thinking is integral in the military but it is also important
for todays executive. Planning to take action requisites a plan to find out just what ones competitor might do. While strategic thinking is desirable, it is
easier said than done. If one is a manager and must develop a strategy to fulfill the strategic vision of a firm, the manager has to look at specific
goals and make sure that they are aligned with the companys vision. In a hypothetical case study, a manager is in charge of a statistical area that has many goals.
In addition to needing to meet specific deadlines to fulfill filing requirements and such, the section wants to expand so that they can take on additional corporate responsibilities. Yet, in
