looking at the negotiation from the perspective of Howard and each of the teams. Juwan Howard had been signed to the Washington Bullets in 1994 on an agreement that
allowed Howard to become a free agent after only two years (Brubaker and Asher, 1996). During the two years since Howards signing his performance had improved making him a
top player, in addition to this he was also a valuable member of the club, guiding less disciplined players and playing an active role in charitable and community projects (Brubaker
and Asher, 1996). The case picks up the story in 1996 when Howard and his agent Falk are negotiating a contract. Howard appears keen to stay at Washington and
this team where given the first chance to negotiate for his services. However, the offer made was low and as a result other teams had the chance to negotiate a
contract with Howard (Brubaker and Asher, 1996). Two main contenders emerged; the Bullets and Heat. The highest offer was from Heat, which ended at a value of $100.8 million plus
perks, following this offer the Bullets increased their offer to $94.5 million (Brubaker and Asher, 1996). Therefore, it is unsurprising that it was the Miami Heat contact that Howard chooses
to accept, which would usually be the end of the issue once signed. When Howard stated he would accept the Miami Heat contract the Bullets renounces their interest in Howard
