the position of sub-Sahara Africa, it is worth noting that noting that the current economic position is one that is worse than the 1960s and that many of the policies

The problem is that observations regarding corruption may be seen as stereotypes and overstated, there are many areas within sub-Saharan Africa, such as Senegal, Malawi and Ghana is a well
governed but has still failed to thrive, where as other areas in Asia such as Pakistan and Indonesia, where there is extensive corruption have prospered. Therefore, corruption alone cannot be
seen as a source of constraint. Sachs (2006) notes that the per capita economic growth rate of Africa is lower than other countries where there are comparable levels of corruption,
by 3 percentage points per annum. The damage by colonial rule, as well as the political meddling in the postcolonial period may be seen as potentially influential. There
