Essay / Research Paper Abstract
A 6 page research paper that examines three disparate works that are, nevertheless, connected by their shared postmodernist perspective. These works are Thomas Pynchon's novel The Crying of Lot 49, Neal Stephenson's novel Snow Crash, and Peter Greenaway's film The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. While these works are vastly different in form and content, they can all be viewed as postmodernist fables that offer a plethora of meanings concerning the nature of modern life and the possibilities for the future.
