crimes, accidents, or other near-death experiences and/or those who have witnessed such occurrences. Often, the victim is unaware of what is causing the change in his or her behavior.
More often, they are very well-aware of the causes and are faced with constantly replaying the scenes from the traumatic event in their minds. However, repeatedly replaying those scenes
may not offer truly accurate recollection of the events that took place. The emotion and the trauma are replayed but details can be skewed. As a result, both
psychological and medical experts have researched the connections that exist between PTSD and memory. The question asked is whether or not the experience of PTSD changes the memories of
the event, whether the victim can still clearly "see" the perpetrators, or if a certain degree of either denial or distortion takes place. Such questions have had an impact
on the outcomes of war tribunals, criminal court cases, the telling of history, and (of course) the lives of countless individuals and their loved ones. Recognition of the Condition Novac
