that seems to predominantly involve the element or the institution of law. With these basic thoughts in mind the following paper examines various perspectives concerning positivism as it involved Lon
Fuller, Jeremy Bentham, and H.L.A. Hart. Positivism It should be noted that the student states how they are not supposed to quote
any particular authors, meaning they are to paraphrase what they discover. However, this paper will directly quote and from that the student can paraphrase.
In relationship to what exactly positivism is, one author notes that it was a name given to the movement that sought to look at positive facts concerning "the
world of nature, which the Idealists had reduced to a mere representation of the ego" (The Radical Academy, 2008). It was a movement that essentially counteracted Idealism and the movement
of philosophy as a result of the scientific developments that had been made (Value of Knowledge Reference, 2008). In essence, the drastic and powerful changes in the world were pushing
philosophers, and thinkers, to come up with new ways in which to examine the world around them. However, still yet, another author illustrates how this particular movement, positivism, "was manifestly
unintelligible and incorrect in the area of ethics or moral philosophy" (The Radical Academy, 2008). As with all philosophical movements there are good and bad elements, offering the modern
