The aim of the collage is to provide a range of educational services for all ages and student travelling up to two hundred miles to attend the collage. The
terms of reference for ht project are to identify the way in which the collage may consider marketing itself to encourage a large number of male and older student. These
are a high percentage of the general population, but are very under represented within the registration at the collage. To undertake this we will first look at the role the
collage plays to understand the market of post compulsory education, in which it operates and the consider marketing issues of positioning and segmenting the potential end users in order to
attract them. 2. The Education Environment Education can be seen as a key factor in the success of any individual in the
workplace or of the country as a whole. The role of education can be seen as materialising in one of many ways, form further education and higher education to work
based retraining and vocational practical course. Even the taking of A levels and AS levels as well as NVQs may all be seen as Post Compulsory Education and Training (PECT).
The need for education is undoubted, but after the age of sixteen there is no compulsion for an individual to remain
in education. However, as the quote above indicated 70% of individuals will remain in some type of education, as the level of the education increases there is a convex relationship
