Pornography and prostitution are typically viewed in a primarily negative light. Both
are regarded as being a reflection of some primal element that remains deeply imbedded in mankinds behavior despite thousands of years of civilization. Some theorists argue, however, that these
are just natural aspects of our behavior and not something that should be shunned. Some feminists even regard pornography and prostitution as a tool that women can used to
liberate themselves from a society in which men typically hold all of the wealth and the power. This paper, never-the-less, will present the thesis that both pornography and prostitution
bring far more wrongs into the world than they bring possibilities of liberation, that existing laws prohibiting them should not just be enforced but strengthened and extended.
Unfortunately, societal mores have declined radically since the mid twentieth century. One result of that decline has been an increase in pornography and even prostitution.
