The factors that influence our childrens lives are much more complex today
than they were just a couple of generations ago. The Internet, for example, is a tremendous influence in the lives of young children. While the Internet is a
wonderful tool, it is also an open road to some of the less commendable aspects of a growingly immoral society. Pornography is one of the factors of moral degradation
that is allowed into our home with the Internet. Even young children it seems have a growing fascination with pornography. While some of this fascination is natural childhood
curiosity most can be viewed as the result of a complexity of factors associated with our declining societal mores. This phenomena is, in fact, a cause and effect relationship.
The gap between youth culture and adult culture is higher than it has ever been in the history of mankind. This is
particularly true in the U.S. The reasons for this gap are many. The decline in parental involvement and the increased focus on television and other cultural shapers such
as video games are two of the most critical of those reasons. The media, however, is the primary culprit for this development. The media too can be blamed,
at least in part, with our childrens growing fascination with pornography and their propensity for search for pornography on the Internet. Unfortunately, the
problems that now afflict our nations youth can be contended to have originated with their parents. Indeed, todays popular culture can probably be traced to the "sex, drugs, and
