of a serious concern. The following paper examines some of the global and regional realities and argues that population growth is a very important global concern. Population Control
In first looking at this issue we look at particular regions, the first of which is India. One author notes that, "Our population now is second only to China. .

sex ratios in the world with a ratio of 960 females to 1000 males, a reality due to the fact that there was a clear sexual preference for males and
female infanticide was common (Sarin). However, this is a reality that is prevalent in much of the world. Various regions around the world often kill female infants or abandon them
