falls into the category of electronic media. However, one can well see how far this electronic media has come in todays world as there are many ways to interact and
obtain information through a multitude of technological devices and mediums. The following paper examines aspects of popular culture and how it has been influenced by electronic media. Popular
Culture and Electronic Media In looking back at American history as it involves electronic media one can see many instances wherein the media has clearly influenced popular culture through television,
radio, music, and film. For example, when radio came out and people began to have radios in their homes people turned away from traditional family times and turned to sitting
in front of the radio to hear stories, news, plays, and music. The world that was outside the traditional familys reach was suddenly brought into the home. Children were entertained
by voices and stories such as the Lone Ranger and families could be exposed to music they had never heard before. It broadened the horizons of many people as it
brought the outside world in, thus ultimately changing how people felt about their world and how people saw their world. As radio gave way to other forms of entertainment
and media, such as films, their world broadened even more. With film one could well say that the essential make-up of the American society clearly changed for suddenly there was
a dream that many people could hope to achieve in the form of dreaming of a Hollywood life and a life of glamour. The images on the screen truly touched
