is certainly political. Similar to Marx, Popper spouts ideas about the way things are and the way they are supposed to be. Marxism is usually aligned with Communism and ideas
to come from the Communist Manifesto. Communism is of course the idea that the abundance possessed by the world is something that should be shared. There should be a reduced
amount of competition and that capitalism is the culprit in mans woes. It leads to alienation and this is really the problem with why man is unhappy. Popper is primarily
critical of methodology in social science in general. While critical of Marxism specifically, he also does not see social science has having true validity. Within the disciplines of
sociology and psychology, there are methods of research which requisites that social scientists prove a hypothesis beyond doubt with the use of statistics. If an experiment produces a result that
is statistically significant, or something that would never occur by chance, then one can say that a particular thing is certain. For instance, if a social scientist wants to
find out whether or not the political positions of children will be like that of their parents, and a study is done with the use of a random sample, one
can say that a conclusion may be drawn. If it is found that children will think like their parents and conclusions had been reached because results were calculated to be
significant, is it true that most children will think like their parents politically? According to social science, one might say yes. Suppose out of 100 Republican families, it is found
that 92% of the children have Republican views, it would follow that familial influence is important. At the same time, so many variables are not controlled for, and one has
