fabric of society in which they live. In regards to how popular culture affects the student on a personal level, the student is encouraged to draw on her/his experience when
writing the students own essay. My use of pop culture establishes me as part of the mainstream of American society, as I enjoy reality-based shows and talent competitions, such
as American Idol. My interest in these shows indicates my deep interest in social relationships and the interaction between the people who are involved in reality-based scenarios, such as Survivor,
as well as my sincere and deep appreciation of individuals who possess a distinguishing talent, such as their ability to sing, or their ability to dance, which is a talent
featured on Dancing with the Stars. In terms of clothes, my wardrobe, at the present reflects my status as a student, as I tend to purchase inexpensively priced items at
stores such as WalMart and Target. My magazine selections reflect my interest in sports, as I like to buy and read publications such as Sports Illustrated. Defining Popular Culture
