need of repair it would coat more than $1 trillion dollars. That is $1,000,000,000,000.000+ dollars. What are your thoughts on this issue?
The demands for infrastructure in cities and rural areas alike have increased over time both in respect to physical infrastructures such
as bridges, roads, schools, hospitals, etc. and in respect to political organization and interrelationships with state and nation. Our nations infrastructural needs, however, are not presently being met.
Nor are those that are in existence being adequately maintained. The recent bridge collapse on the Mississippi River in Minneapolis is
just one example of the shortcomings of our nations infrastructure. The decline of the academic preparedness of the students that are schools are turning out and the obvious
shortcomings of our present medical system are two more examples. The list, however, goes on and one. This is true despite the value infrastructure holds in this country
in terms of the quality of life, industry, and national security. Obtaining and allocating the funds needed to bring our national infrastructure into
repair and to provide for additional infrastructural needs must be a priority on both a local and a national level. Our country simply cannot continue to exist in its
current state without this focus. Regardless of the cost, something has to be done. Our spending must be cut back in other areas to allow this to occur.
