In the post-Cold War world where economic needs are real but government and individual attitudes toward classic capitalism often are suspect, astute international business managers can build loyal workforces while
contributing real value to the local communities in which they operate. In so doing, they establish and maintain greater international competitive advantage. Europe
Siedentop (2001) addresses federalism in Europe, arguing that the EU must necessarily evolve into a federal constitutional republic, while at the same time advising that the entire current progress
in Europe toward a federal constitutional republic slow down. Philosophy of Democracy Siedentop (2001) asks, "Where are our Madisons?" and states that "Our
object should be to create a culture of consent in Europe. But if such a culture is difficult to achieve in a nation-state, how much more difficult it must
be in a federal state on a continental scale!" (p. 45). Siedentop (2001) sees two dangers in this, one of which occurred in America as it was developing its
