Even the most accomplished parents are not exempt from making mistakes that will take root within a child's psyche and unwittingly program him for certain difficulties later in life; when this occurs, psychological therapy is often sought as a means by which to deprogram such imbedded characteristics. Toddlers, however, present an even greater challenge with regard to unmasking issues that cause introspective or antisocial behavior; in these cases, play therapy is employed so that the child can be free to express himself in the natural state of release that children innately understand.
