philosophy, is because of him. Whether it was through his works which tell of Socrates, or his own ideas, Plato stands as one of the most important figures in history.
The following paper examines the life and work of Plato. Plato Athens, Greece is where Plato was born and he was
born into a very wealthy family who were really involved in politics (Plato for Kids - the ancient Greek philosopher). As a child he was involved in "reading classics, writing
on tablets, playing music and working out in the gymnasium" (Plato). Plato never really became interested in politics and instead went and listened to Socrates who would speak about life
and the questions of life in public (Plato for Kids - the ancient Greek philosopher). Two of his brothers also went along and became avid listeners of Socrates (The Philosophers
Lighthouse). Socrates was killed and this upset Plato in many ways and it seems that the way he dealt with Socrates death
