A 5 page paper which discusses the influence of
Picasso in relationship to the contemporary art world, in relationship to his use of
Impressionism and Cubism. For the most part, his use of Impressionism was nothing more
than a stepping stone to his later innovative Cubist designs, and as such the primary focus
of the paper is on the evolution of Cubism, and the influence his art has had upon the art

a piece of art, in its most crude representation, and see a very simplistic and real image that would incite him to a particular style. He worked with nearly every
medium known, and constantly came up with something unique, essentially based on other more crude works. Such was the case with Picassos interpretation, or creation, of cubism and impressionism styles
of art. While Picasso was not the one individual to truly create such as the Impressionist style, it was styles such as these that he was able to use for
his own interpretation, thus changing the face of the art world. And by doing so, he was the one whose work and focus directed and influenced others for generations to
come. It was Picasso who created something unknown from something commonly held and seen. He had the ability to take a simple art form and turn it into an incredible
symbol of something far deeper than had previously been accomplished. As McLean states, "Picasso, the inventor of whole new systems of painting for the 20th century, never aped the accomplishments
of past masters. Yet throughout his career he explored issues of style, structure and meaning by creating variations of works by other artists" (114). In the following paper we present
