when it comes to human development, however, Piaget pointed out how there is a distinct set of parameters where certain developmental aspects occur with everyone. "By bringing new objects
into the game and creating new events, the child has demonstrated that he is beginning to understand the distinction between himself and the world around him. He now knows
that things exist even though he cant see them, and he realizes that they have properties that are independent of his actions upon them" (Meyerhoff, 1994, p. 8).
Secondly, Piagets theory illustrates how experiencing life requires much more than merely going through the paces of ones existence; rather, the various developmental stages
inherent to personal growth require cognitive awareness in order to achieve a true state of being. Myriad people do not realize the abundant elements that comprise ones personal development,
often incorrectly surmising that ones transition from childhood to adolescence, marriage to family and advanced education to career are all a matter of happenstance. This presumption, however, does not
