education class. Sometimes the term P.E. conjures up memories best forgotten. Regardless of the pressure and insecurity one might have felt or does feel as a young adult today, it
can not be disputed that physical education is an important subject. It is a subject that has lost some ground lately but it remains an essential part of good health
and intellect for people of all ages and especially those young adolescents who are in need of establishing beneficial habits that will last a lifetime. For while it can be
argued that physical education isnt necessary it can not be argued that proper health is unnecessary.
The amount of physical education a child receives has declined dramatically in the past several years. What was once considered an essential part of the academic needs of children is
now considered frivolous and unnecessary. the general public has determined that physical education is simply not an important issue. Perhaps this belief is caused from their own experiences with physical
education in their youth. Nearly everyone has had an unpleasant experience with what might be considered a "Gomer Pyle/Sgt. Carter like relationship" (Lynell E-1). However, the principal reason behind the
reason physical education programs have taken a decline in the school systems is funding. In large portions of the United States there has been an incredible amount of cut-backs in
programs available to the youth of today. Along with the physical education programs that are being cut are the art and music programs. This is undoubtedly harmful to the children
