Throughout the evolution of the company and how it they are organized, there have been many theorists to emerge. Some have been better than others, giving the world ideas such as Total Quality Management and Management By Objectives. While many theorists concentrate on what is to be done, philosophy of management has recently become important. As with the slew of organizational books on the market for the corporate executive and the slippered home engineer, who is often known as mom, there have been attempts to make things better. The world needs organizations and the corporation is a mere cog in this effort to reorganize what has always been done. In other words, in order to something right, organization is key and the corporation is just a part of the attempts to keep things straight. In the old days of corporate America it was almost a certainty that the president of the company had the final word. And in a chain of command, his word would go down the ladder and the man on the bottom wrung would have to obey the demand. Today, with CEOs brought in from the outside to run a virtually alien company to CFOs and others who get on and off the corporate ladder, there is a great deal of confusion. Within the two extremes of corporate America is an organizational paradigm waiting to be discovered. It exists and some of the greatest thinkers in management theory have broken through the walls of corporate America.
