issue is abortion. A complex persuasive appeal in respect to this issue may come from the side of the right to life group. In fact, it often does in the
form of protest, coercion and logic. Those who support the Right to Life position contend that abortion is murder and on grounds that the little cell clusters are human beings
are able to persuade women not to have abortions, but rather have their babies instead. The debate is heated but a student writing on this subject will want to note
that persuasive techniques can be used on both sides. Much is in rebuttal to what the right to life movement has to say and an example of this is
as follows: It started with Jane Roe and not Jane Doe. Roe was named in the infamous lawsuit in question but was actually Norma McCorvey, who in 1973, a
poorly educated but pregnant barmaid, quickly became as a symbol to millions ("The real Jane" 111). McCorvey, the plaintiff in Roe v. Wade, was in the middle of this important
case which determined that women do have a constitutional right to an abortion (111). While the legalities were resolved, the moral dilemma continues.
Abortion is still a controversial subject but while the religious right wages arguments such as abortion is murder and that there are other options short of the distasteful abortion process,
