can be summarized as the process in which information is transferred from one entity to another. It is most commonly defined as the ability to interchange thoughts, opinions, words, information
and data via speaking, writing, or signals. Communication is a process whereby information is channeled and imparted by a sender to a receiver via some medium. All forms of communication
require a sender, a message, and an intended recipient; however the receiver need not be present or aware of the senders intent to communicate at the time of communication in
order for the act of communication to occur. With the rise of modern technology, there are new and innovative ways in which information can be communicated between two or more
parties. For example, the internet, cell phones, instant messaging, email, Facebook and fax machines are now the primary means of communication in modern society. All these technologies rely basically on
lasers and fiber optics. In the health care industry for example, people rely heavily on electronic medical recorders and voice recognition devices as a main way to communicate and relay
information. In the aviation industry, communication is of the utmost importance regarding safety and timing of when planes will land, take off and how they are being tracked on radar.
