desire for knowledge in the human race is boundless, however, the same is not true of all individuals. Some individuals appear to be more motivated and adept at learning than
others. The individuals that are more adept at learning may be seen as having a higher level of commitment, but also different characteristics. In general terms good students have open
minds, are flexible, and able to undertake joined up thinking where lessons learned in one context for from one subject can be applied with accuracy and value to another. Where
situations change, personal of jobs, they are more able to adapt by gaining and using information to their advantages. Even the experience of continued learning facilitates further learning with the
development of a more productive mindset. The same model of learning and adaptable may be applied to the commercial world where organisation
may be seen in terms of the individual, needed to develop and learn. Those that have the characterises of the individual learners are more likely to develop in the commercial
environment than those who have closed minds, are set in their ways or see no reason to change. Organisations are made up of individuals, the culture may therefore be one
of learning, that spreads as well as emanates from the employees, or it may be one of rigidity. The role of the individual and the organisation may be seen as
