a child, when he was President and most of what I know comes from what I have learned as an adult. He was clearly a President who faced some incredibly
difficult historical pressures. He made a difference for my generation and all other generations. President Kennedy was, by no means, a perfect President. No one is perfect. He was
a man who apparently had sexual affairs, and perhaps an affair with Marilyn Monroe. Many people think that a President must be perfect but that is not a honest possibility.
There are also many who believe that Kennedy was likely the most perfect President we had, or will have. One of the most powerful conditions, and stressful conditions, experienced
by Kennedy involved the pressing threat of war with Russia. After WWII the nation became more and more fearful of the Russians, of Communism, and of nuclear war. There was
the Cuban Missile Crisis which could have meant the destruction of civilization. It involved ships coming from Russia to Cuba which were reported to have nuclear weaponry aboard. It was
a tense few days that could have ended in disaster but according to historians it seems Kennedy acted correctly and avoided a disaster. Another element of Kennedy and his
career involved his presence in the Civil Rights Movement. He was a President who seemed concerned about injustice in the nation. Many argue that he was incredibly active in Civil
Rights. Others claim he was cautious and thus not incredibly present in the movement. Either way he can be considered to be one of the most forward thinking Presidents.
