develop a secure attachment to parents (Boeree, 2006). The writers infancy was filled with love and nurturing from parents and a large extended family. 2. Stage 2: Toddler, age 1
to 2 years. Crisis is Autonomy (Independence) versus Doubt (Shame). Toddlers develop self-control as well as confidence as they learn so much during this stage. They gain a sense of
independence if they are allowed to make mistakes (Boeree, 2006). The writer gained a sense of independence through encouragement. 3. Stage 3: Early Childhood/Preschool, Ages 3 to 6. Crisis: Initiative
vs. Guilt. At this stage, the childs motor skills become more refined. It is also at this stage, the child becomes more involved in social interaction. Children also learn impulse
