Marks Gospel, Jesus asks his disciplines "Who do people say that I am?" Various answers are offered and then Jesus asks, "But who do you say that I am?"
and Peter responds, "You are the Christ" (Mark 8:29). While this question was asked two thousands years ago, theologian Robert Krieg points out that the question remains with us to
this day, as each person, each believer, tries to determine who Jesus is to them. In so doing, they engage in Christology, which is as term that refers to the
trying "to understand the identity of Jesus as the Christ, as Gods anointed one, as Gods Son and the Second Person of the trinity" (Krieg 12). This statement by
Krieg appears to largely sum up the theological stance of the student. In writing your own paper, the student may use this statement as a lead-in to stating your own
beliefs, which may be worded something like the following: While different forms of Christology have been postulated in the modern era, my own beliefs are fundamentalist and follow the precepts
described by Krieg, that is, I believe in Jesus as the Son of God and that it is His divine attributes that enable him to be the one and only
