long-time adage that urges one to life for today as tomorrow may not come (Howarth 673-689) stands true especially in contemporary society, with people in a constant state of hurriedness,
oblivious to the more delicate details of their lives. In a push to be better, faster and more productive than the next guy, human beings have become virtually nonexistent
in their own reality, having little if any idea how dangerously close they are each day to losing everything that means the most to them. "We do not live
for today, instead we worry about what could happen tomorrow. We worry about things like illness and death and these are certainly very legitimate concerns. But again our
lives should not be consumed by these worries. Instead of fearing what lies ahead we need to give thanks for the present moment and live for today" (How Can
