meaningful message upon which her listeners will take action or respond in some desirable way. As a speechwriter for former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and Republican pundit since that administration,
Noonan has the ability to make remarkably persuasive statements that might not be as persuasive coming form another source. In short, Peggy Noonan "knows her stuff" and, as such, serves
as a more than just reputable source regarding the ways in which one makes a convincing and meaningful public speech. In any speech Noonan makes, her political and ideological leanings
are made abundantly clear. In On Speaking Well: How to Give a Speech With Style, Substance, and Clarity (1999), she would argue that passion and conviction are elements of what
make a good speech and are essential if one is truly determined to distinguish him or herself by "speaking well." Peggy Noonan it is impossible to separate either the
character or persona of Peggy Noonan from what Peggy Noonan writes. She is, after all, an avid Republican who is able to clearly delineate between good guys and bad guys
and believes that President George W. Bush and his administration serve as the best possible advisors regarding whos who on that issue. While reading her books, it is essential to
