as a means of enhancing educator performance and adaptability to curricular changes, while also reducing the level of turnover that results from educator isolation. At a time when many
schools are struggling with performance measures and meeting state and federal standards, efforts of this type to improve educator performance and reduce turnover rates are imperative to improving educational outcomes.
This capstone project assessed the views in the current literature, especially those that relate the transformation of peer coaching methods since the 1980s, in regards to the
value of peer coaching to reduce educator isolation, improve theory application and educational process, and improve overall performance outcomes for vulnerable schools. The proposed recommendations, which include cross-content collaboration
and coaching methods, are based on the findings in the current literature. Section 1: Issue of Concern Though educators are required to go through student teaching opportunities as
they pursue their credentialing degrees, these experiences are just the tip of the iceberg of what educators need to know to function in the classroom, develop as a part of
a professional team, and apply curriculum design to instructional process. Educators entering the field can benefit from professional development that focuses on the use of peer coaching as a
method for enhancing the application of theory, the demonstration of methods for instruction and the training necessary to adapt learning in the educational setting to practical experiences in the classroom.
