is, Christ" (Ephesians 4:14-15). "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children" (Ephesians 5:1). "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child,
I reasoned like a child" (1 Corinthians 13:11). "I tell you the truth, anyone who will not received the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it"
(Mark 10:15). These passages suggest that adults must become like children in order to learn Gods word. In the first passage, Ephesians 4:14-15, Paul is trying to teach
the Ephesians how to learn about God. The major theme of the epistle, which Paul wrote from jail, is the unity of the church. He tells the people that when
people first begin learning, they are like children, they have the naivete and immaturity of children. Immature Christians are like children; they are gullible and able to be pushed by
any idea, false or true that comes along - they are carried away on the winds and they are easily fooled by those who are sly and crafty. It is
important to be childlike but not as na?ve as children (Smith htm). It is important to realize that everyone, regardless of age, begins their Christian life as a novice. One
pastor was very descriptive: "we all started our Christian walk as babes in Christ. A new believer is expected to be na?ve, to behave as a child, and not to
