desire to gain and retain audiences have resulted in changing patterns in ownership. If we look to the past there had been the practice of empire building in the different
media forms. The press barons of the early twentieth century concentrated on own of newspapers. However today, with increased competition the pattern is not only that of empire building, but
also that of mergers and acquisition, on one hand it is consolidation as expected with any mature industry, on the other hand it is amalgamation of the different media forms
so that companies may retain audiences across the media and across the globe. There are many media companies; if we examine five major media companies then we will be able
