do feel a spiritual connection, and receive help through their religions, but still disagree with some of the precepts that are embraced by their chosen faith. For the latter group,
there is a dilemma. Not too long ago, there was a group of nuns that wanted to become priests, something not allowed by the Catholic church. Some have commented that
the nuns should leave Catholicism instead of trying to change the rules. But they claimed that they loved the religion; they just disagreed with some of the dictums or the
interpretation of certain aspects. It is difficult to say whether or not someone belongs in one religion or another, and should opt out or try to change it. Many Catholics
have left their churches for one reason or another, and converted to Protestant sects which appear more open. Some things that many Catholics in general disagree with, for example, are
issues pertinent to birth control and sex. They realize the hypocrisy of attending a church that considers barrier methods to prevent conception a sin while using some sort of birth
control. These small disagreements may seem larger than life for those who want a pure commitment to a religion they believe in. Some want to change the religion while others
end up rejecting the religion entirely. Still, it is rare, given peoples individual natures, that everyone will agree with every inkling of their chosen religion. And in fact, for the
most part, calling a religion a "chosen" one is usually a misnomer. Few do choose their religion. They are born into one and so it must be recognized that there
