are films that can offer us a look at the life of Christ from the time he was a child, or a film that depicts the struggles of Christ in
the last few days of his life. They can also be somewhat fictional portrayals that focus on the politics and society of the time period. In essence, a film that
presents us with a portrayal of Christ can come in many different forms. In Pasolinis film "The Gospel According to St. Matthew" we are offered up a look at the
life of Christ from before the beginning to the end, using the Gospel of St. Matthew as the script for the film. The following paper examines how Pasolinis film depicts
Christ as it relates to his dialogue and dissemination. Christ in Pasolinis Film As mentioned, this film takes us from the before the beginning of the life of
Christ, as seen through the presentation of Mary and Joseph, and on through to the end of his life. The script is really nothing much more than the actual Gospel
of St. Matthew. In fact, Pasolini does not often even let characters speak in the film if they have no lines in the Gospel itself. For example, with Mary and
Joseph the presentation of their early beginnings is told merely through the fact we see Mary pregnant and we watch the struggling expressions on their faces. In terms of
Christ, as seen when he is a grown man, it is perhaps helpful to first discuss how Christ is often portrayed in many movies about the life of Jesus. What
