paper summarizes and analyzes the article Married and Single Parents Spending More Time With Children, Study Finds by Robert Pear. Parents and Time with Children The article illustrates that,
as mentioned in the introduction, parents are spending almost as much time with their children as they did 40 years ago. Apparently, although many people think that women who are
entering the workforce would be spending less time with children they are spending more and actually spending less on housework. The study also illustrates that men are taking part in
housework more often, thus also giving both parents more time with the children. The ultimate truth that seems to be revealed in the study indicates that women have realized that
day care will never replace what a mother or a parent can provide and as such they have made adjustments to ensure they spend time with their children. It
seems that these findings may well surprise people and that is likely because the media often portrays busy parents and busy children, all going in different directions rather than spending
time together. But, as is the case with any research, any real changes in society are not really evident or available through research for years after the actual change. So,
while the society started to change several years ago, many people believe that the changes are only happening now. The truth is that they are only apparent now because the
