Families are subject to a number of stressors that for the most part didnt exist just a few generations ago. For some
families, or more specifically for some individuals within a family, these stressors can make them more prone to criminal behavior. Juvenile behavior, in particular, can be affected by these
stressors. The intent of this paper is to discuss three specific correlations that are believed to exist between families and the psychology of criminal behavior among juveniles. These are:
1. social inequality 2. an overwhelming feeling of despair, and 3. the presence of social groups that, although deviant, offer a perceived outlet for the juvenile.
Juvenile delinquency is just one of the many reflections we have of a deteriorating society. Juveniles are responsible for a greater and
greater percentage of the crimes we are witnessing in the world and a greater and greater percentage of violent crimes in particular. The behavior of far too many of
our nations children has disintegrated from that which is societally acceptable to that which is societally reprehensible. There is, of course, no one place to lodge the blame for
