These are Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatism, and Fibromyalgia. The following paper examines these pain disorders and their treatment. Pain Disorders Arthritis Arthritis is primarily considered to be pain due to inflammation of the joint. There are many different types of arthritis but it is categorized by the inflammation of the joints and it can cause very limited mobility in many people because of the stiffness and the pain associated with the inflammation (Familydoctor.org [1], 2005). There are many different types of treatment available, some of which involves such things as active lifestyle and losing weight to put less strain on the bones (Familydoctor.org [1], 2005). There are creams that people can buy over the counter, or medicines that can be prescribed (Familydoctor.org [1], 2005). Some simple medicines that relieve the pain are aspirin and ibuprofen (Familydoctor.org [1], 2005). Aleve is one of the brand names most often used it seems (Familydoctor.org [1], 2005). A doctor can prescribe such medicines as Celebrex as well which may assist in reducing the inflammation and swelling (Familydoctor.org [1], 2005). Osteoarthritis Osteoarthritis is one of the many forms that arthritis can take. It is generally considered to be a very slow and progressive form of arthritis and more often associated with people who are getting older (Familydoctor.org [1], 2005).
