Ho Hos and Wonder Bread had suffered from accounting problems inside the company and also by two "fads" that it had failed to detect the low-carb craze. Added to this
were parental concerns about the high sugar and fat content in IBC snacks. In response to these issues, IBC created a low fat, low sugar alternative to Twinkies called
Twinkies Low. The company wants to get the message out to its target audiences, which include mothers as well as people on low-carb diets such as Atkins and South
Beach. IBC is hoping that the new product will help the company become profitable once again. IBC has approached the
student and asked for his/her help to develop a PR-only campaign to help develop a groundwork for future advertising. In other words, no dollars will be available for this campaign;
it will rely totally on public relations efforts. To develop the best campaign possible, the student has been asked to do the
following. First, discuss two formal and informal research methods that could be used to reach audiences. Second, preparation of the first five steps of a program plan to help meet
IBCs goals. Third, to use this plan to demonstrate how to move the "target" from the first stage to the last. To
