therapy. One problem, however: the university doesnt have an art department. To get this program started, or even considered, the university needs some kind of access to an art program.
Fortunately for this institution, there is an accredited art college in the same area that doesnt have a counseling department. There likely
isnt a need for this college to have a counseling department, nonetheless, both organizations have decided it might be a good idea to collaborate to design, and offer, a joint
art therapy program as an undergraduate degree. Both institutions are helped by the fact that this offering has been targeted as
a "need" area for the state. In other words, there are state funds available to get the program launched. But the state is not in the habit of just giving
away its money - those in charge will want a proposal or some kind of plan, in writing, to demonstrate the nuts and bolts of the program (who will be
in charge, how this will be administered) and how both campuses will pool their resources to develop the program. The good
news is that this proposal doesnt necessarily need to outline the benefits to the state, as the state has already targeted the art therapy program as a needed service.
