dubbed KnowledgeCurve. When using KnowledgeCurve, PWC employees from around the world have access to everything ranging from best practices, two consulting methodologies,
to ever-changing tax and audit rules, to online training and a directory of experts (Stewart, 2000). KnowledgeCurve also links PWC employees to specialized sites for information on various industries
or on ways in which to improve skills (Stewart, 2000). During 1999, Grady Means, the global leader of Price Waterhouse Coopers strategy consulting practice was interviewed for an article in
the publication Strategy and Leadership. (Anonymous, 1999). In this article, Means discussed knowledge management as part of the new economy business model,
a model shaped around communities rather than profit and loss statements (Anonymous, 1999). "You have a market community, a purchasing community, and outsourced, financial -- accounting community. These communities
are within the company and with alliance partners," Means said (Anonymous, 1999, p. 9). He added that the communities needed to be
able to communicate with one another -- and that transparency of information between the communities was important (Anonymous, 1999). He also added that the new network technologies that had been
introduced could all Ill company to create global, 24/7/365 business models "in which people are communicating to their communities regardless of the hour of the day" (Anonymous, 1999, p. 9).
