beloved by their students, both for their demeanor and also for their wit and intelligence. Both men have also formed the philosophical basis of many famous 19th and 20th century
mathematicians, politicians, and philosophers. Scientists and even businessmen and women. However, it will come as no surprise to those who study ancient philosophy that both of these men were very
different in terms of their outlook, view on life and regard for mankind. This paper will examine the differences and similarities
of these two famous Greek philosophers with help from Jenny Goellnitzs excellent essay, "Plato Vs. Aristotle." With help from Goellnitz and her essay, this paper will attempt to define the
differences of these two philosophers, and also compare the issues that they did agree on, without diminishing the impact either one of them had on history. In short, according to
both Goellnitz and historians, Plato could be considered the philosopher and metaphysic whose ideas soared into lofty domains and creative ideas, while Aristotle is the hard-core scientist who follows the
theory of "seeing is believing" and that something must be touched in order to be a reality. According to Goellnitz, one significant
difference between Plato and Aristotle was their different views on the world, as well as the purpose of their philosophies and their visions (Goellnitz). Aristotle, for the most part, is
